Charity Check Guide

We want you to feel confident that your donations are reaching the right place. Here is how you can verify any person officially representing Buttercup Children's Trust.

Official Identification

All Trustees, Staff, and Volunteers carry official hard plastic ID cards (similar to a credit card). These cards include:

  • Our charity name and phone number
  • The person's name and photograph
  • An individual ID number
  • A QR code on the reverse for verification

Note: We never use computer-generated paper ID badges.

Collection Containers

Our official collection containers are round, yellow, handheld "polyboxes."

Every container is securely sealed with a numbered security seal. If you have any concerns, you can verify the seal number by calling our office.

Safe Giving Tips

We want every supporter to feel confident when giving to Buttercup Children's Trust. If somebody is collecting in our name, always ask to see official identification, check that collection materials are clearly branded and contact us directly if you would like to verify a fundraiser or event.

If you prefer, you can always donate safely through our official donation page or speak to our team via the contact page. You can also read more about our charitable work on the About Us page.

Taking a moment to verify a collection protects both donors and the families who rely on our fundraising work. Genuine supporters help us maintain trust by checking details, sharing concerns promptly and using official channels when they want extra reassurance.

If Something Doesn't Look Right

If a collection, fundraiser or request for money seems unclear, please do not feel pressured to give on the spot. Note the location, date, names or materials being used and contact Buttercup Children's Trust directly so we can verify whether the activity is genuine and take action if needed.

Supporters who double-check details help protect the charity's reputation and make it easier for genuine fundraising activity to continue with confidence.
